Our Founding Fathers were very clear:
They didn't want a monarchy here.
Been there, done that, and IT wasn't working.
They could see the dangers lurking.
And so our struggle for freedom became
A movement that ignited a flame--
A flame that spread to other nations
As they proclaimed their aspirations.
We're a republic--red, white, and blue;
We call ourselves a democracy, too--
One that follows a constitution--
Our Founding Fathers' contribution.
Checks and balances were meant
To keep an elected president
From having far too much control
And taking on a king-like role.
But checks and balances are being
Disregarded, for we are seeing
A president grasping more and more power,
Day after day and hour after hour.
His autocratic kleptocracy
Is smothering our democracy.
His Christian nationalists on his team
Have made theocracy part of the scheme.
Many people are unaware
Of what's going on. Do they not care?
But as their insurance premiums rise,
They see the extent of the president's lies,
They grow very weary of watching the way
He weaponizes the DOJ
To arrest any foe that might exist
And happens to be on his enemy list,
Prices keep rising higher and higher,
Threats to our health become more dire,
Vicious attacks on our cities increase,
And lies about immigrants do not cease,
Maybe more people will stand with us
To make good trouble--to make a fuss.
Join us and give a helping hand.
We want NO KINGS to rule this land.
