My Tongue

I'm glad my tongue's not as long as a giraffe's.

How awkward that would be!

It would get in my way when I tried

To chew gum, talk, or drink tea.

For a giraffe I'm sure it comes in handy

And isn't mere appliqué

But maybe having a tongue like a giraffe

Would indeed have its place:

When in an emergency

I had to wash my face.
